The SMU swimmers are off to a strong start this season. On Oct. 9, the men's squad came in second behind TCU by 18 points in the North Texas Relay Meet in Denton.
The women's team took first on the same day, finishing ahead of TCU by 32 points. The women's swimming and diving team will compete next on Oct. 23 and 24 when they host the SMU Classic.
The men's team will swim this week against each other in an intrasquad meet at Perkins Natatorium on Oct. 15. The Mustangs travel back to Denton to swim against New Orleans on Oct. 17.
In the 2008 season, the SMU women's team tied for second with the University of North Carolina in the SMU Classic.
