Track dominates at UNT

The SMU women's track and field team posted several NCAA regional qualifying times Thursday at the Mean Green Twilight in Denton.

Freshman sprinter Amber Evans swept the 100- and 200-meter runs, posting NCAA qualifying marks in each. Evans ran the 100 in 11.74 seconds, which was a school record.

Simone du Toit and Christina Mueller finished first and second, respectively, in the women's discus throw. du Toit's heave of 57.35 meters was a stadium and school record. Mueller posted a regional qualifying throw of 50.74.

Lauren Kuhler and Ayla Gill swept the top two places in the hammer throw, with Kuhner posting a regional qualifying toss.
