Workout programs that really work

Workout programs that really work

Life is full of ups and downs, and college is no different. There are period of time where you have nothing to do but watch Netflix and hang out with your friends. You are ahead in all of your classes and can go to any party or event you want because you’ve got all the time in the world. Then there are periods of time where taking a long shower is a time luxury you can’t afford.

During periods of time where life gets to be overwhelming, whether tests are stacking up or an internship is controlling your life, it is hard to motivate yourself to do any sort of physical activity at all. Trainers and companies are aware of this and there are a few workout programs on the market that have capitalized on being quick and effective. So instead of slaving away at the gym for an hour or so, people can do an efficient workout in their room.

Thanks to social media sites like Instagram and Twitter, it is easier to find these programs. It is also possible to see the results that real people get from doing these programs, proving that they work for the common person.

One social media queen is Kayla Itsines with a whopping 3.6 million Instagram followers. Itsines is an Australian native that has made waves around the world with her Bikini Body guide and Bikini Body Guide 2.0. Both of these are 12 weeks guides help women of all shapes and sizes become the best version of themselves and get bikini ready. The guides are comprehensive and informative, giving anyone the tools they need to get healthy and fit. The best part is that each workout only takes 30 minutes, and can easily be done in your dorm room. It is also fun to go to Dedman to do them, because lots of SMU girls go and do them together.

Beach Body is very popular among people who are trying to kick-start or maintain a healthy lifestyle. Some of their most popular programs are P90X and Insanity. These programs are effective and great for a person who has the space and time to do them. For those of us who don’t have an hour or more to spend, there is the 21 Day Fix.

The 21 Day Fix program was created by Autumn Calabrese and focuses on both the dietary and fitness aspects of a healthy lifestyle. The program was created to teach people portion control and how to incorporate a daily workout into their schedule. These workouts, which include cardio, pilates and yoga, are quick but tough. A 30 minute workout can leave you feeling sore the next day, proving they work. The 21 Day fix helps you learn how to eat healthier and provides workout videos to get you moving

Alexa Jean Brown is another Instagram sensation that has created her own workout guides. Brown is a busy mom and understands how making time for working out can be hard. Her guides were created for people who are balancing a busy schedule but want to make fitness a priority. Brown has three different e-book style guides that target different areas of the body, including upper body, butt and leg, and abdominals. The workout guides are 30-day challenges to keep you engaged and help avoid burn out.
