Dallas Arts District: Stay fit with Yoga, Asian art

By Yolonda Battle, ybattle@smu.edu  If you are an art connoisseur, enjoy yoga or thought about taking a class before, try venturing to the Trammell Crow Center located in the Dallas Arts District. I love art and working out (on occasion). So, I thought the Arts District would definitely offer some cool activities indoors until this Texas weather decides to act right. And, they certainly do. Starting this month the Crow Center has added a new yoga date to its calendar by offering classes Saturday mornings from 11 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. in addition to their previous Tuesday afternoon classes 3:45 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. On Saturday's they also have Tai Chi classes. The ambiance and Asian themed artwork throughout...

Out Wide: North Texas soccer

By Brad Namdar, bnamdarkha@smu.edu Getting back on the Pitch! North Texas soccer is getting back into the swing of things this month, starting back up with Classic League and recreational soccer. With more than 200 clubs and recreational teams the local soccer fields in Plano, Dallas, Richardson, Carrolton and Farmers Branch will be full with youth soccer players. With all the different select clubs and programs parents, players, and clubs are looking to become more and more competitive. The Dallas Texans are dominating in both the overall standings in boys and girls select soccer leagues. The Texans have 11 out of 18 age groups with teams currently ranked in first place. Though, FC Dallas U-18 and Solar U-16 are currently at the top of the USDA league...
