Barley House attracts Republican crowd
by Billy Embody
At Barley House, an SMU hangout, a mostly Republican crowd has gathered to watch the election results stream in. Although the crowd is small, many are pretty opinionated as to who they would like to see come out on top in this Presidential election.
“I think Romney is clearly the better candidate and the best to balance the budget. I think the main problem is that people are voting a lot on just social issues instead of economic issues, which would lead to Obama being the one who would come out on top,” SMU junior Margaret Ellen Crawford said.
Just now, a huge applause has erupted because Mitt Romney has been called to win the state of North Carolina even though Obama is now just 26 votes away from winning the election with Florida still up for grabs.
Barley has gotten a little bit more vocal since we first got here and we look forward to seeing some students pour in to be together as the final tallies roll in.
