Students at Hughes-Trigg favor outcome
by Lara Mirgorod
SMU students attending an on-campus watch party are very excited that President Obama has won re-election. Mitt Romney supporters left a long time ago.
For the amount of support there is for Obama here at Hughes-Trigg center, there are a few students who did not even vote.
“I didn’t know it was election day, but I am a huge supporter of Obama. I thought that I could still vote this weekend,” said SMU Freshman Xavier Wilson.
Many other students including Nohemi Mora who did vote are very excited because it is their first watch party.
“It is also my first time voting, because I am 18. I am so excited that the candidate I voted for won,” says Mora.
Many people are popping balloons and standing on tables.
The Program Council, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, and the Association of Black Students organized tonight’s event.
