There are two new trends that designers have introduced that are definitely worth knowing about. Here is a quick rundown of what they are, and what to wear.

1. Velvet.

Ok, so obviously we have heard about velvet as a hot trend in the past, but it is one of those timeless fabrics that you’re sure to re-wear winter after winter. It’s definitely worth it to invest in a few pieces. When it comes to this trend, focus on deep, vivid colors.

To spice up this look, sport quilted- yes, you read that right… this pattern isn’t just for bedspreads- velvet jackets to keep warm and stay stylish at the same time.

Designers have expanded their lines that were filled with velvet blazers all the way to velvet skinny pants, heels and bags.

A small shoulder bag is a great way to subtly show off your stylish personality if you don’t want to go all-out.

2. Bright red.

Toned-down reds aren’t the only shade of red that are hot this season. Think of the color of red hot candies, and there you have it- the perfect shade of red to incorporate into your wardrobe!

Yes- maroon is in too, but why not add a color in the same family? The shades are at two opposite extremes, so you won’t have to worry about overlapping.
