Trying a new trend

You can be extremely fashion forward and read every page of every fashion magazine, but the trends you find are most likely not all for you. When it comes to trying a new trend, there are a few things to keep in mind.
First of all, if you come across something that seems a bit out of your comfort zone, but you can see yourself wearing it- try it! It’s easy to get nervous around something that you have never tried before, but you’re style will forever be the same if you never do something spontaneous.
Secondly, be realistic. Often what you see on the runway or in magazines is highly exaggerated in terms of what you would wear. Models are wonderful for inspiration, but don’t take their looks literally. Tone them town to your own level, whether it means wearing subtle purple eye shadow instead of a peacock-eye, or taking one piece from a look you love and then making it your own.
Be sure that no matter how much you love a look, it actually works for you. Whether it’s a particular shade or shape, don’t force it- there are plenty of other trends out there that will work.
And lastly, only sport a new trend if it’s comfortable. Not just in terms of feel, but that you feel confident in it. To determine this, try wearing it around your close friends first to see their reactions.
Keep up with new trends, but pay closer attention to those that you know will work for you to avoid any fashion faux pas!
