President of GM North America speaks on troubles in auto industry

Abstract:
American automakers have been on the downturn for the last few years. They have been painted as unreliable gas guzzling pick-up truck and SUV producers in a world with rising fuel costs. "Taken For A Ride" documentary

posted 9/11/08 @ 6:40 AM CST

The Library / Media Center has a copy of the documentary "Taken For A Ride". This exposes how GM DELIBERATELY destroyed the mass transit system in America (and conspired with Firestone and other corporate giants). Executives of GM blatantly admit to the intentional destruction of trollys, trains and buses. Proven in court.

America better start waking up. Also, this paper often censors valuable information.

it will appear that the big burocrasies of the US auto companies is the main problem. GM as well as Ford have two solutions:
1- Convert models to Hybrid technology and almost doble the milage of the veicles (will buy time).
2- Buy the Tesla Motors Company and start making electric cars with their new batery technology (250 miles range per overnight charge).
Mercedes Bens is looking in to buying) Tesla, like allways GM and Ford burocracies will mised the opportunity.

Troy Clarke still doesn't have a clue. For two decades American consumers have been buying foreign vehicles to get the quality and gas mileage they demand. I have owned several GM cars, and I found the service departments to be predatory and unresponsive. What a revelation when I bought a Honda! Until Mr. Clarke understands this basic fact, GM will continue to go down the tubes.
