My question: Global oil discovery peaked in 1964, fourty years ago. How long can production continue to grow when known resources are being depleted much faster then new reserves are being proven? Consumption in oil rich countries is growing rapidly, so they are facing the double penalty internal consumption and reservoir depletion. Resource nationalism is increasing everywhere, even in Canada. Many governments are going to choke back exports to protect the future prospects of their citizens. Peak oil is staring us in the face. In five years everything will be affected: employment, tax revenues, food production, health care, social service, military operations, manufacturing, design of cities, decline of roads and ascendency of rail transport, tourism, equity markets, pensions,.... Get informed, get ready.
