Widespread Panic hits America's highways

Abstract:
I was never one to take Widespread Panic seriously before I saw the band live in concert. Being a huge Grateful Dead fan, I thought that Panic was just a rendition of my favorite, though deceased, jam band. False.

Widespread Panic can definitely be compared to Grateful Dead, sure, but you have to get past that stereotype to see the core of what Panic is....

George McConnell was the highlight of the weekend by far. His guitar work is way better than the original guys.

I am not the lead guitarist of Widespread Panic. Simply put, I was not good enough. They handed over the reigns to Jimmy Herring and HE has taken this bands to new heights. I appreciate the free publicity but in, in fact, is demoralizing to the rest of the band. Thanks

These were some truely sick shows. Jimmy Herrin is the f***ing man, BTW as George stated, Jimmy came on with Panic last year. I first saw them in Atlanta for the 12/30-12/31/06 shows. They are gods. This was my second trip to OB to see them all the way from Jefferson City, MO and it was totally worth it both times. Atleast this year I saw all 3 shows. I hope the rumor is not true that they are not allowed back at the Wharf. If it is, F*** the WHARF. I'll find them somewhere else. Oh and guys, I would love to see you again in either St. Louis or KC. You are welcome here anytime.

I saw the Chicago shows with my friend, Molly. I'm a huge fan. My first show was was 1999 or 2000, I always forget.
Off to watch TV!!

is George McConnell putting out an album any time soon? I read that he has a band together. It's good to hear he's still playing.
