The Methodist ministers' petition to stop SMU from getting the George W. Bush library hit a milestone on the same day SMU's Young Conservatives announced plans to start a petition of their own. The group organizing the Methodist petition said Wednesday that more than 9,000 church members have signed the online form since it was launched two weeks ago at protectsmu. (4) comments

Nick Shepherd, executive vice president of Blockbuster, Inc. and president of Blockbuster North America, spoke in George's Auditorium yesterday to a full house of business fraternity students and other members of the SMU community. Delta Sigma Pi (DSP), the largest professional fraternity at SMU with more than 90 active members, welcomed Shepherd as a part of its recruitment program for new members. (0) comments

Students who park on the west side of the center island of the Ownby Parking Lot, located between Westcott Field and McElvaney Hall, will have to move their cars today. The parking lot will be closed due to construction. Repairs will be made to the paving that was damaged when a new waterline was installed in early December. (0) comments

The elusive secret of happiness and how to successfully obtain it has been sought after for generations. Wednesday, this mystery was revealed - or at least some tips on how to obtain it were brought to light. Katherine Guenther, who has a B.S. in psychology, held a "Brown Bag" luncheon in the Memorial Health Center Wednesday in order to promote personal happiness in everyday life. (0) comments
