Some Faculty Senate members are calling for a revote after a resolution regarding the Bush Institute failed on Wednesday with a vote of 13-13 and three abstentions. Another resolution calling for concurrent appointments at the institute to be appointed by both SMU and the institute passed. (1) comment

The Office of New Student Programs is looking for students who are interested in welcoming the Class of 2011 to SMU. Leaders are needed for the summer orientation programs, Academic Advising, Registration and Orientation (AARO) and Mustang Corral. Students interested in applying must attend an information session, complete an online application and sign up for an interview time. (0) comments

Daylight-saving time gets new date

Every spring and fall it strikes unsuspecting Americans. It affected freshman Lisa Rodriguez's performance at a dance convention taught by world-renowned instructors. "I came into my class an hour late and made a complete fool out of myself because I had to dance in a small group and had no idea what I was doing," she said. (0) comments

Tests confirm meningococcemia (infection of the blood stream) in SMU male student. The sophomore was hospitalized Tuesday morning for a suspected blood infection with Neisseria Meningitidis, which is the bacteria that causes meningitis. The student's test results came back positive for Neisseria Meningitidis. (0) comments

SMU's Student Senate Scholarship Committee is introducing a new scholarship available to undergraduate students. The new Mustang Leaders Scholarship of $6,500 will be awarded to a student who demonstrates strong leadership on campus through participation in student organizations. (1) comment
