June Jones arrived in Dallas at 6 a.m. Sunday morning on a flight from Honolulu, Hawaii. Jones was expected to be in Dallas on Saturday, but was unable to get a flight until Sunday. The 72-hour deadline that SMU supposedly gave to Jones would have expired on Saturday, but due to flight restrictions it is expected that he will meet with SMU officials on Sunday. (3) comments
After offers and counteroffers, calls from fans, alumni and even the governor, June Jones will reportedly accept the offer to be SMU's new head coach. After arriving in Dallas early Sunday morning, Jones has been faced with a tough decision. Either leave Hawaii to come to SMU, or return to his alma mater after taking them to a BCS bowl game. Central University Libraries recently announced the formation of the Norwick Center for Digital Services, a student multimedia center that will replace the Norwick Center for Media and Instructional Technology (CMIT). On Sept. 8, the SMU Mustangs football team won its only game of the season against the North Texas Mean Green, 45-31.
