The death rate of anorexia nervosa is 12 times higher than that of all other causes of death in females from ages 15 to 24. Spreading the Word About Disordered Eating (S.W.A.D.E.) was started in hopes of improving this statistic and raising awareness about eating disorders around the SMU campus. (1) comment
Known for its collection of Spanish art, the Meadows Museum is no stranger to international artists. Thursday evening, the museum hosted an English artist as part of its Visiting Artist Lecture Series. Roger Tibbetts, sculptor, painter and professor of fine arts at Massachusetts College of Art, gave a presentation on his artwork throughout the years to an audience of about 40 people, some of them SMU students. Sophomore Warren C. Seay Jr. will participate in The Institute for Responsible Citizenship's two-summer leadership program in Washington D.C. at Georgetown University.
