The Rooney fan is a loyal fan. Even though the band packed up the bus for the "Calling the World" tour a year after its sophomore album release, Rooney's faithful Dallas fans showed up at the House of Blues on July 3 to show their support. From "Dazed and Confused" to "Harold and Kumar," stoner films reside in a subgenre that usually fails to break through to mainstream audiences. The majority of moviegoers watching these films guffaw at jokes whose punchlines appeal mainly only to potheads. (1) comment

Writer and director Woody Allen's new project, "Vicky Cristina Barcelona," is a sexy and funny film that explores lust and passion, while offering a savory taste of the romance and culture of Spain. The film follows two very different women, Vicky (Rebecca Hall, "The Prestige") and her flighty best friend, Cristina (Scarlett Johansson, "Scoop," "The Other Boleyn Girl"), as they travel to Barcelona for a vacation before Vicky gets married. The biggest entertainment news of the summer is the absolute box office domination courtesy of Christopher Nolan's "The Dark Knight." The recent revival experienced by the Batman franchise is directly attributed to the success of the past two films. However, the franchise was almost killed in the late '90s when Joel Schumacher helmed two Bat-films. (0) comments

Dr. Dog "Fate" Rating: 9.0 There's a lot of terrible, recycled music out there these days. Whether it's the stuff played on the radio, or something you'll find only at Good Records, there's still an amassing amount of sub-par tunes blasting through car speakers and headphones alike. (0) comments
