After only a month on the job and a week of preseason practices, new SMU head coach Tim McClements feels comfortable and ready to lead the men's soccer team into the 2008 soccer season. After finishing with sub .500 records in the last four seasons, the SMU women's volleyball team is looking to make a big jump in the Conference USA standings this fall. Head coach Linda Seifert said the key is to stay injury free, which the Mustangs have been unable to do over the last few years. (0) comments

The SMU women's soccer team blanked Baylor in a 1-0 season-opener exhibition game at Baylor's Betty Lou Mays Field on Saturday evening. The teams faced off against each other in three 30-minute periods so coaches could make necessary adjustments and give each player some time. (0) comments

Mustangs' men's soccer player Ryan Mirsky was recognized for his contributions at SMU by being named to the preseason All-Conference USA Team. The team is selected by all of the coaches in the league. Mirsky is a senior defender from Tyler, Texas. He has started in 59 games for SMU and started in every game as a defender during the 2007 season. (0) comments

The SMU men's soccer team will host its second annual alumni soccer game on Friday, Aug. 22 at 7 p.m. Jordan Mann played for SMU during the 2005 and 2006 seasons, helping them reach the College Cup in 2005. Mann passed away at his home in May 2007 from natural causes. (0) comments
