Three graduate students will participate in the 11th annual M2008 Data Mining Conference on Oct. 27-28 in Las Vegas. The team consists of Ph.D. candidates Stefan Avdjiev, Jayjit Roy and Manan Roy. Economics Professor Tom Fomby sponsors the team. The team competed in the 2008 Data Mining Shootout, which is a competition presented by SAS Institute, the Central Michigan University Research Corporation and Dow Chemical. (0) comments
The National Association of Graduate Liberal Studies Programs awarded its National Faculty Award to SMU Professor and Director of the Human Rights Program Rick Halperin. Halperin teaches in the department of History and in the Graduate Liberal Studies Program. (0) comments
