With finals fast approaching and students bogged down with more research papers and reading than they can handle. It's no wonder Fondren has become the new hangout for everyone. What were teachers thinking when they decided to assign tests, papers and projects the week before final exams are issued? Sure, we could probably handle the excessive workload during the semester, but it's unrealistic to think we can accomplish and study for finals in such a small time frame. (1) comment

Last Thursday, Plaxico Burress of the New York Giants patronized a New York nightclub. Burress was arrested for two counts of felony possession of a firearm and now faces up to 15 years in prison. w He as suspended by the Giants for four games. The suspension will end Burress's season and, likely, his career as a Giant. (0) comments

This past week, we as a nation celebrated one of our greatest holidays: Thanksgiving. Thanksgiving is a time for giving thanks. Like the Pilgrims gave thanks for Squanto and Samoset and their corn, Americans give thanks for the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, the Dallas Cowboys (sorry Detroit fans) and great shopping deals. When I list my economic inspirations, John Maynard Keynes doesn't make the top five, or even the top ten. I tend to lean towards the University of Chicago school of thought so creating a fiscal stimulus package through deficit financed government spending immediately sends shivers down my spine.
