The performance series takes place Monday, Oct. 5 to Friday, Oct. 9 in front of the Bob Hope Theatre in the Owens Art Center.

On Monday, Wednesday, and Friday the performances start at noon. On Tuesday and Thursday, they start on 12:30 p.m. The event is free and open to the public.

The Brown Bag Dance Series consists of student-choreographed performances featuring ballet, jazz, and modern dance. It is unique that the faculty does not play any part in putting together the series.

“It’s really cool to see how all the students come together and support each other in getting the work done,” said Ashton Leonard, a sophomore dancer.

Dancers auditioned for the series on Aug. 30 and have been diligently working on the choreography ever since, sometimes even practicing until midnight.

“It’s been go, go, go every day to try to finish the dances as soon as possible,” Leonard said.
