John Wiley Price and Dwaine Caraway, two candidates for the Dallas County Commissioners Court, engaged in a heated argument during a candidate forum at the Heaven 97 radio station Feb. 22.

During a commercial break, the two candidates began exchanging words ostensibly about personal issues, which ultimately led to the tense altercation. In a video taken by fellow candidate Micah Phillips, Caraway appears to be yelling at Price and had to be restrained and taken into another room.

Phillips’s video, however, may not have caught the tension building up to the exchange of words. Price allegedly called Caraway degrading names and grabbed one of Caraway’s campaign staffers by the neck. In addition, Phillips’s video shows Caraway accusing Price of potentially having a sexual relationship with his wife.

Despite the video recorded by Phillips, loose ends remain as the Dallas Police Department is investigating the fight and waiting on additional video recordings. This comes at an interesting time in the campaign race though, as voters must choose a candidate in the coming week.
