Here for the party

Ed Board looks forward to food, fun and a free concert at Mane Event

The last day is upon us. Yes, today marks the last day of classes before reading days, finals and summer plans.

We hope everyone has had a productive semester, with appropriate quantities of education and partying.

Speaking of parties, don’t miss this afternoon’s Mane Event.

Mane Event is Program Council’s annual spring bash, and it seems to get better every year.

This year’s festivities start with Student Senate inaugurations at 3 pm, and the Event lasts all afternoon. After the inauguration, students will be able to participate in many activities including bumper cars, inflatable and games, with prizes of course.

At four, there will be a “gladiator” competition. Ed Board is especially looking forward to it, as Ed Board member and Opinion Editor Toby “Falcor” Knighton will be competing.

Yes, The Daily Campus will have a representative on hand to test the “fun-ness” of the event, as well as to scramble through an obstacle course like a ferret through a rabbit hole.

We’ve not forgotten to mention the most important portion of the afternoon, state-fair catered delicacies like funnel cakes, barbecue sandwiches, nachos, ice cream sandwiches, etc.

Not only that, there will be a live DJ laying down the scratch.

At seven, the doors open at Moody Coliseum for a live concert by Juvenile. Sure, it’s not Tupac or Biggy, but it should still be a concert worth attending, especially since it’s free.

Wait, did we forget to mention that this whole afternoon of food and fun is free?

Obviously we have not.

So come, and make your friends come. There should be enough food to feed five to seven thousand people. Plus, it’s the last — well, Program Council’s last — bash until next semester.

Everyone needs a place to let it all out after the last day of class, before they bust out the books to beat finals next week. And while Margarita Ranch is appealing, why not come by Mane Event first, or afterwards, but that might be frowned upon by the administration.

We hope every student has an opportunity to attend today’s entertainment; we’ve been assured that it will be a blast.
