A witness reported that a man named Danny Evelio Cruz came over to the residence looking for his ex-girlfriend, who was not there. She had recently ended their relationship. There was an argument between Olivas and Cruz that escalated, according to the witness. Cruz shot Olivas then immediately fled the location.

Cruz was taken into custody Monday on charges of murder and aggravated assault, The Dallas Morning News reported.

The second shooting happened 30 minutes later, five miles away. Two people were shot outside of a Pleasant Grove convenience store, Adams Food Mart. The victims have been taken to a hospital and are expected to recover, according to dfw.cbslocal.com.

The third shooting was around midnight on Kittyhawk Lane in southeast Dallas. A woman was shot but is suspected to have survived, according to police. Cruz is also the main suspect for this assault.

The fourth shooting happened at a Pleasant Grove apartment complex. This incident left the victim wounded, although not in critical condition.

Police are still investigating the motives for the other two shootings which do not appear to be related.
