RLSH, Chaplain’s office set example for rest of campus

Letter to the Editor

Dear Editor:

I would like to praise the recent Ice Cream Social sponsored by the RLSH and the Office of the SMU Chaplain for the SMU Apartments community located on Binkley Street.

The simple, but nice, effort for the marginalized SMU Apartments community (consisting of students with young children, foreign students, and graduate students) was the first attempt by any aspect of SMU to build community in our little corner of the campus, that I can remember during my three years living here.

We are the most diverse and international corner of the campus.

Many of the family members do not speak English, so please publish your flyers in both English and the other major languages ofthe community. Our children also need a playground and we need a sidewalk to get to the bus stop, the grocery store, and the DART station.

Keep up the good work and come back again.
