Student reports being robbed at gunpoint east of campus

An SMU student reported to the Dallas Police Department that she was robbed at gunpoint in an apartment complex parking lot around 10 p.m. Feb. 23, according to the SMU alert email. The robbery took place in the 5900 block of East University Boulevard near Jason Drive, east of North Central Expressway.

The suspect is described as a black male around 21 years old. He has a slim athletic build and is about 5 feet 11 inches tall. The victim said he was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt with red lettering and a black do-rag. The suspect was also wearing sweatpants and Adidas sandals with socks.

The gun was described as a small, black semi-automatic pistol. The suspect fled the scene on foot in an unknown direction.
