Professor Chris Coats led her SMU Meadows students to wrap blue ribbons around 50 trees on campus last week to honor SMU Officer Mark McCullers and the DPD and DART officers who died almost two weeks ago in the Downtown Dallas shooting ambush.

Communication student Courtney Baptiste stated, “We are honoring the police officers that faced much adversity recently in Dallas. We are hoping people will recognize Dallas is our home and these heroes need to be recognized. The students are very grateful for the people protecting us.”
