North Texas guts SMU 43-6

this is an image
The Mustangs needed to bring home a win from Denton on Saturday, but were unable to put up any kind of fight and lost 43-6 to UNT

At the end of the first half, SMU was already down 23-0, despite having held UNT’s offense to 153 total yards.

The Mustang’s biggest obstacle over the past two games has been their inability to generate any sort of an effective offense.

SMU ended the game with 274 total offensive yards and only held the ball for 21 minutes, while UNT dominated the time of possession- holding the ball for over 37 minutes.

SMu head coach June Jones, used three quarterbacks on Saturday.

Neal Burcham, got the start and finished with 99 yards and two picks on 12/22 passing.

After his second interception, Burcham gave way to an odd rotation of Kolney Cassel and Matt Davis.

The two quarterbacks combined for a pedestrian 167 yards on 11/22 passing and one TD.

SMU has a bye next week, which means it has two weeks to prepare to host Texas A&M; on September 20 at Ford Stadium.
