The Mustangs took on the Baylor University Bears Saturday at Dallas Country Club. They lost 6-1, but put up a hard fight. Junior David Costa's win against Dennis Lengsfeld 2-6, 4-6, 6-3 at line two singles was the only point SMU had for the afternoon.

The Mustangs knew going into the match that it would be a tough one, but would also show them where they stood for the season against a really good team.

No. 36 in the country Artem Baradach faced his first loss of the season at number one against No. 27 John Peers 6-1, 7-5. This made his record 4-1 for the season.

The Mustangs pulled out a win in doubles play; Joseph Hattrup and Tobias Flood defeated Jordan Rux and Lengsfeld 8-6.

Baylor, however, claimed the doubles point because its other two lines won.

Nowicki and Cuadrano of SMU had a long match but ended up losing a very close 9-7.

Adham el-Effendi and Artem Baradach fell to the No. 7 duo of Peers and Maytin

This loss put the Mustangs at 2-3. They play again on Thursday at 2 p.m. against Utah State University at home.
