The SMU Mustangs take the field for their final home football game of the season Saturday. The Mustangs (6-5) take on the Rice Owls (4-7) at 11 a.m. in Ford Stadium. This game marks two special events Battle for the Mayor's Cup and Senior Day.

Battle for the Mayor's Cup is a long time rivaled tradition dating back to 1916. SMU and Rice are referred as "small universities" located in Texas' two largest cities, which sets this game apart from SMU's other rivalries. SMU and Rice have played each other all but seven years since 1916.

The Mustangs will also tip their hats in a ceremony celebrating 20 seniors- Chris Banjo, Kelvin Beachum, Jr., Cole Beasley, J.T. McDermott,Randy McKinnon, Brad Namdar, Josh LeRibeus, Bryce Lunday, Justin Sorrell, Matt Stone, Bryce Tennison, Taylor Thompson, Kelly Turner and Terrance Wilkerson.
