Mustang men, women close out Indy Grand Prix
The SMU swimming and diving team had a strong showing in its last meet of the season this weekend at the Indy Grand Prix. Senior women’s swimmers Denisa Smolenova and Therese Svendsen finished out their careers as Mustangs with three top-five finishes and one top 10 finish between the two.

Swimming and diving makes waves at NCAA Championships
SMU men’s swimming & diving sent one swimmer and one diver to the NCAA Championships over the weekend. Junior standout Mindaugas Sadauskas continued his successful season with a strong showing in both the 50-yard and 100-yard freestyles, While freshman Devin Burnett competed on the platform, three-meter, and one-meter dive.

Swim team makes waves in NCAA competition
While many Mustangs spent spring break 2012 making waves in the ocean, the SMU women’s swim team spent the break making waves in the pool. On March 17, the Mustangs placed 16th at the Women’s Swimming and Diving Championships in Auburn, Ala. With a total of 67 points, SMU was able to grab the 16th place standing swimming past Georgia and Southern California.

Men's swimming & diving finished strong in American Short Course Championship
Update: Saturday, 9: 40 p.m. The SMU men's swimming & diving team finished strong this weekend in Austin, Texas at the American Short Course Championships. SMU's Matas Andriekus, Julian Fletcher, David Larsson and Mindaugas Sadauskas placed second in the 200 medley relay with a time of 1:28.

Swimming, diving head to Houston for championships
The men's and women's swimming and diving teams both head to Houston Wednesday to compete in the Conference USA Championships. Swimmers and divers from SMU, TCU, Houston, Marshall, Tulane, ECU and Rice will compete in the four-day event. The men's team is 3-1 in dual meets this season, after its most recent win over No.

Nicol named Swimmer of the Week
SMU swimmer Rachel Nicol, a freshman breaststroke specialist, was named Conference USA Swimmer of the Week. The Longhorns won the meet 155-139 but Nicol, who came to SMU from Alberta, Canada, took first place in two races. In the 100-yard race, she finished ahead of freshman teammate Erica Donadon by just one-hundredth of a second with a time of 1:03.
