No. 19 SMU women’s swimming and diving will compete in the Conference USA Championships this Wednesday through Saturday in Houston.

The Mustangs have a perfect record at the Championships, winning all four C-USA titles since joining the league in the 2005-06 season.

The team is coming off an overall successful trip at the Missouri Grand Prix at the University of Missouri Feb. 12-14.

Junior Sasha Smolenova supplied the first Mustang NCAA qualifying time of the weekend. Sophomores Denisa Smolenova and Therese Svendsen, and senior Justine Clark joined her by the meet’s end.

Svendsen was named C-USA swimmer of the week last week for the second time. Svendsen swam two NCAA “B” qualifying times.

She finished with a time of 1:02.84 in the 100 meter backstroke, and she got a time of 2:16.05 in the 200 meter backstroke.
