SMU women’s basketball announced its non-conference schedule Wednesday. The team will host the SMU Thanksgiving Classic Tournament and play in the Puerto Rico Tournament in December.

The Mustangs will play 11 games before American Athletic Conference play begins, starting with the Nov. 15 season opener against Northwestern State. Two more home games against TCU (Nov. 18) and Arizona State (Nov. 21) follow. In the Thanksgiving Classic, SMU will play Cal State-Fullerton on Nov. 27, followed by either Kansas or Northern Illinois on Nov. 28. True road games at North Texas (Dec. 1) and Texas A&M (Dec. 7) bookend a Dec. 5 home game with New Mexico.

After a break for final exams, the team travels to Puerto Rico for three straight games against Arizona (Dec. 19), Gardner-Webb (Dec. 20) and Mississippi State (Dec. 21). The conference schedule has not yet been released.

The Mustangs will see some familiar faces, having played four of the teams on this year’s out-of-conference slate last season. The team has some familiar faces of its own, returning five players who started at least 15 games in 2014-15, including leading scorer and AAC all-freshman selection Alicia Frolling.
