Your next fashion must-read book, must-see movie

Your next fashion must-read book, must-see movie

As the weather cools down, it becomes the perfect time of year to curl up on the sofa in fuzzy socks with a great read or must-see movie. These two stylish picks are sure to do just the trick!

Queens of the Jungle

Ever wonder exactly how your favorite “Gossip Girls” would have handled being moms? Now you don’t have to, because the new memoir “Primates of Park Avenue” explores Manhattan motherhood. Dr. Wednesday Martin, a Midwestern social researcher, used her background in anthropology to deconstruct the Upper East Side elite when she began raising her children in one of the most prestigious zip codes in the country. From the crazed pursuit of a Birkin bag to outrageous kiddie parties, this book has (and exposes) it all. Find it on Amazon for only $15.60 (a much more economical choice than a Birkin bag).

Eyes on Iris

College students might recognize her from Kate Spade’s Spring 2015 ads with supermodel Karlie Kloss, but Iris Apfel has been living a life of fashion for decades. In the biopic “Iris” by Albert Maysles, the legendary documentarian captures the essence of the quick-witted and flamboyantly dressed 93-year-old style maven who has had such an impactful presence on the New York fashion scene. Critics don’t call it a fashion film (although her wardrobe is a delectable treat), but a story about how a free spirit can continue to inspire later in life. “Iris” will soon be every fashionista’s favorite watch on Netflix.
