VIDEO: Student Falls Through Manhole

Thomas Wells, a junior SMU student, was walking home to his apartment when he fell through a manhole located outside of Virginia Snider Residence Hall and the Umphrey Lee Building around noon Thursday, October 11. 

Wells said maintenance workers told him the safety bar located inside the manhole saved him from falling through completely. He sustained only minor cuts and scrapes to his leg and said he does not think this is a campus-wide issue.
