Move over Favor, Caviar is a new player in the food delivery service game

Move over Favor, Caviar is a new player in the food delivery service game

When fliers for Caviar first arrived at my sorority house, I was excited to see what possibilities this food delivery service could hold. Over the past few months I had grown tired of Favor and the long delivery times that came with ordering from the app. I was excited to see if Caviar would be better, and oh man did they deliver.

After looking through the options that the Dallas branch of Caviar has, my roommate and I settled on ordering from Coal Vines, known for its New York style pizza and pastas. The full menu was at our fingertips, complete with the ability to customize with ease. It felt like ordering off any other pizza delivery site.

Before we ordered our food we were able to see the wait time, which was going to be between 40 minutes and an hour. Unlike Favor, where you could be left waiting for a mysterious amount of time, we knew that our food would arrive by 6:28 p.m. We could also easily track the order throughout the entire process. When our driver picked up our order we were able to track where his car was through a GPS, similar to the Uber app.

The most impressive part was that the food arrived 15 minutes before the estimated time, hot and fresh as if I was in the restaurant, when in reality I was still in my pajamas.

Caviar advertises itself as “the easiest way to order from America’s best independent restaurants.” The restaurants they have partnered up with include some of the most talked about in Dallas, like Cane Rosso, Hypnotic Donuts, HG Sply Co., and Bob’s Steak and Chophouse. Much like other services that have gained popularity over the last few years, Caviar has drivers that work in some of the major cities around the United States, including Atlanta, Los Angeles, and Miami.

Cavier’s motto is true – they’re the easiest way to order food; and the free delivery for the first order only sweetens the deal. So move over Favor, there’s a new kid in town and its name is Caviar.
