Zoetropes, pancakes and more: Dallas arts events happening in October

Loop Interactive Art Exhibit
Twelve giant zoetropes have been installed in Texas for the first time in Burnett Plaza. The exhibit is available until Oct 28. The interactive exhibit allows people to sit inside the giant wheel and watch 12 fairy tales come alive.

Death Becomes Us: A Celebration of the Dead
The Dallas Public Library is hosting “Death Becomes Us: A Celebration of the Dead” from 2 p.m.-4 p.m. on Sunday Oct 28. Festive music, food and a reading from Blanca Reyna.

The Dallas Pancakes & Booze Art Show
The Dallas Pancakes & Booze Art Show is happening on Saturday, Nov 17 at 8 p.m. There will be over 100 emerging local artists, live body painting and a free pancake bar.

The Avant-garde Art Exhibition
On Thursday, Oct. 25 the Avant-garde Art Exhibition sponsored by TRIBELLA Painting will be held in Old East Dallas from 7 p.m.-10 p.m. Free food and drinks will be served.

The Turtle Creek Arts Festival
Starting on Saturday, November 10 the Turtle Creek Arts Festival will be happening in Reverchon Park. The two-day arts festival will showcase approximately 100 artists with food trucks, live music and art activities.

Roald Dahl’s Willy Wonka Jr.
The Artisan Center Theater will be performing Willy Wonka Jr. until Nov 3. Actors under the age of 18 will be performing the classic story of Willy Wonka’s candy factory.
