Tips to get the most out of this year’s spring break

Tips to get the most out of this years spring break

Students have all been counting the days until they can ditch the stress of school and kick back to enjoy a weeklong vacation.

Some might think that one wouldn’t need to read about ways to actually enjoy a vacation, but in reality it can be hard to de-stress after spending countless hours in the library.

Traveling and planning during vacation can be stressful, it is important to receive the most out your time away from school.

Here are three ways to make your spring break more enjoyable.

1. Pack like a Pro

The packing and preparation for a trip can be stressful. Use a basic packing list to prepare.

Write down how many days you are packing for. While looking in your closet, think of outfits that will be appropriate for the activities you have planned. It is best to pick out a variety of outfits, and then narrow them down by trying them on or considering if they will be essential for the trip.

Check out the weather at your destination before you go.

Be sure to include toiletries, medications and valuables such as jewelry in a separate traveling case.

2. Unplug

Without a device to distract you, you’ll have a easier time taking a break from the routine of your everyday life and tuning in to those can’t-miss-moments.

If you can’t get away from your online life completely, try to set up one or two times a day to check your email and messages, and spend the rest of the time signed off so you can fully enjoy your getaway.

3. Manage Expectations

After months of planning and anticipating a trip it is hard to not have high expectations. Try not to fixate on perfection. Hope for a good trip, rather than assuming that you’re in for the best week of your entire life.

If things don’t go perfectly it may even inspire you to create a fun plan B in case you run into less-than-ideal vacation conditions.
