Tonight an interesting lecture will be held in Dedman College. The lecture will be hosted by the Anthology department of Dedman. It is an addition to the Scott Hawkins Lecture Series. Southern Methodist’s own Ph.D Jason LaBelle will be flying in this afternoon to speak, and leaving in the morning tomorrow.

Home based in Colorado, Mr. LaBelle is an associate professor at Colorado Tech University. Tonight’s lecture is called: 
“The Mountains as Wilderness and Home: Examining the Late Holocene Archaeological Landscape of the Southern Rockies of Colorado”
 and will be focused on LaBelle’s research.

He participates in many exploratory digs with avocational archaeologists, and works with the Paleo Indians. Mr. LaBelle’s research also encompasses the study of mountain ecology, which his lecture will be mainly focusing on this evening.

Make sure to come to the McCord Auditorium at 5:00 p.m for this exciting guest lecture.
