Meadows announces final dean candidate

The fourth and final candidate for the dean’s position in the Meadows School of the Arts is Sam Holland, dean ad interim and director of the division of music at Meadows School of the Arts.

Holland has served as dean of Meadows since July 1, 2014 and has been a faculty member since 1991.

He is the only one out of the four candidates to currently be working at SMU.

Holland is is a graduate of the University of Oklahoma where he earned a Ph.D. in music education.

Holland will visit SMU Oct. 27 and 28. Following his visit, students and faculty will have the opportunity to provide feedback regarding their perceptions of Costa’s suitability to serve as the dean of Meadows.
