Cornyn was declared the winner with 64% vote reporting, according to Decision Desk HQ. The Republican won 52.4% of the vote over Hegar’s 45.2%, according to the Associated Press. Trump and Cornyn’s solid victory margins arrive after record voter turnout and speculation that Texas could be part of a “blue wave.”

“They support me because they know me. They trust me. I think that has a lot to do with what happened tonight,” Cornyn said in a post-victory press conference.

Democrat Colin Allred has also won reelection as U.S. Representative for District 32 against Republican challenger Genevieve Collins. In the race for House District 32, Colin Allred corralled 52.9% of the vote with 98% of the vote in, according to the AP. After some delay, the race was called for Allred by the AP just before 10 p.m.

“I will keep working for each and every one of you,” Allred said in press conference tonight. “Even if you didn’t vote for me, I will be your representative for Congress.”

In the race for House District 108, Democratic candidate Joanna Cattanach lost in a narrow race with incumbent Morgan Meyer, according to Dallas County reports. The race, as of the most recent numbers, was separated by 913 votes with Meyer ahead by a razor thin margin of 49.5% of the votes compared to Cattanach’s 48.44%.

Republican Nathan Hecht wins against Democrat and SMU alum Amy Clark Meachum. Hecht was ahead, winning 53.1% of the votes compared to 44.1% for Meachum. However, Meachum was ahead in Dallas County winning over 60% of the votes.
