Texas misses out on any blue wave that might have swept the state

The following results are from the office of the Secretary of State Rolando Pablos. As of 10:05 p.m., over 40 percent of precincts have reported, and incumbent Ted Cruz is winning by 52 percent. Out of over 15 million registered voters, 40 percent have turned out at over six million voters.

Approximately 23 out of 36 Representative Districts have been voted Republican, though votes are still rolling in.

Both Republican Governor and Lieutenant Governor incumbents Greg Abbott and Dan Patrick are winning by over 50 percent. Also the Texas Supreme Court Justice seats that were up for grabs – Places 2, 4 and 6 – were held by incumbents Jimmy Blacklock, John Devine and Jeff Brown.
