Kalamazoo, Mich. is usually considered to be a safe city according to a CNN anchor. But over the course of 5 hours on Saturday, beginning around 6 p.m., an Uber driver began shooting people at random. Not only are police horrified by the randomness of the shooting, but also by the fact that the he allegedly continued to pick up and drop off passengers in between the shootings.

Dalton admitted to the shootings this afternoon. He has been charged with six counts of murder, two counts of assault with intent to commit murder and eight firearms charges, according to CNN.

Dalton is married and has two children. He had no criminal record. Police have found no indication for his motives, nor connections between him and the victims. The ages of the victims range from 14 to 74. Six of the victims are confirmed dead, while two still remain in critical condition.
