5 Top Things Needed for a Wedding

5+Top+Things+Needed+for+a+Wedding

They say a wedding is all about the bride. While the groom is certainly an integral part of the ceremony, let’s be honest, it’s the bride who cares the most that everything goes to plan. She does most of the dreaming, the planning, and then executing.

However, planning a wedding is much more complex than you might think. In fact, it becomes easy to let the major things needed for a wedding slip through the cracks. But don’t worry, that’s why we’re here.

Keep reading for the essentials no wedding can be without.

1. Food

Nearly every guest on your list will expect food at the wedding reception after the ceremony. Food is one of those things needed for a wedding to thank everyone for showing up. The key is figuring out what to feed everyone.

This may very well be determined by your budget. You can keep it classy (and expensive) with high-quality cuts of steak and seafood, or keep it casual. Check out your local catering companies and see what their prices and options are.

You can also forgo meals altogether and simply provide snacks and desserts.

2. Entertainment

Next, every good wedding reception has entertainment and dancing. Once again, your budget may dictate what you can afford.

You can hire a DJ with these tips or hire a band to play live music. Regardless, you need to provide encouragement for people to dance.

You should also consider providing games. Outdoor weddings are great for games like horseshoes, cornhole, and more.

3. A Venue

Next, you need to lock down a venue. This is one of those things needed for a wedding you absolutely can’t put off until the last minute. After all, you can’t expect to get married if you don’t have a location to invite the guests!

We recommend searching far in advance to make sure you can get your place of choice reserved. You may even find a discount by reserving a venue early.

4. A Guest List

Now, this part may be a little tricky. While you don’t want to leave anyone off the guest list (to avoid hurting feelings primarily), you also need to realize that the more guest you have, the more expensive your wedding will be.

Start planning early with your future spouse to determine who you want attending your special day. Try to be patient and compassionate when it comes to inviting members of the family (yours or theirs) that you don’t fully appreciate.

5. Decorations

Finally, one of the most important things needed for a wedding is the decorations.

What will your theme be? What colors will you use? What flowers will you choose?

Work with your fiance and enlist the help of friends and family for both planning the decor and carrying it out. Once again, never leave it until the last minute.
