Editor profiles three key Men’s Basketball players
Red shirt senior guard Nic Moore has proved himself as a constant in a season filled with controversy. Through 13 games, Moore has averaged 15.8 points per game, making him the team’s leading scorer by more than three points per game. In addition, Moore leads the team in minutes per game, averaging 33.6 minutes per game, and assists, with 63 assists over the course of the season.
Red shirt senior forward Jordan Tolbert has played a vital role in SMU’s success this season. Tolbert leads the team in rebounds, with 139 thus far, averaging 9.9 rebounds per game. Of those 139 rebounds, 58 were offensive rebounds and 81 defensive rebounds. Furthermore, Tolbert is the third leading scorer for the Mustangs, averaging 12.1 points per game, and has contribute 13 blocks over the season, the third most on the team.
Junior Ben Moore has acted as one of the most dynamic players on the Mustangs’ roster. Moore is the team’s second leading scorer, averaging 12.3 points per game and has also contributed 39 assists throughout the season. However, Ben Moore’s importance extends to the defensive side of the ball as well. Moore is currently averaging 8.2 rebounds per game, making him the Mustangs’ second leading rebounder, and is the team’s leading blocker, with 21 blocks on the season.
