SMU football heads to Tulsa on Saturday for its last game of the regular season. The Mustangs are coming off of a loss against Memphis, which was their chance at leading the west division of the American Athletic Conference. Before the loss, the team was on a two game win steak, one of those against a ranked Houston team. SMU still has a chance of heading to a bowl game if they beat Tulsa. The team was in the same situation at the end of last season. They beat Tulsa 38-34 to become bowl eligible for the first time since 2012. The Mustangs are 5-6 in the regular season, and 4-3 in conference play. Tulsa has a record of 2-9 in the regular season and 1-6 in the conference.
