The best dressed on the Oscars red carpet

The best dressed on the Oscars red carpet

That’s all folks! Award season has once again come to a close.

There were winners and losers, some were surprises and others were expected. Whether or not an attendee walked away with one of the coveted gold statues, there was another award to be had that night: best dressed.

The slew of award shows that led up to this event are more like dress rehearsals for the stars, but Sunday’s show was the grand finale. If there is ever a time to look your best, the Oscars is most certainly it.

There seemed to have been a few certain colors that the stars chose to stick to for the event: black, white and red. These three classic shades stood out on the carpet and made these famous faces look their absolute best.

Some stars chose to go for a deep plunging neckline, such as Margot Robbie or Channing Tatum’s plus-one, wife Jenna Dewan Tatum. Others decided to employ a lustful lace look, which “American Sniper”’s Sienna Miller and “Gone Girl”’s Rosamund Pike aced.

Then of course there must be a nod to the suits of the red carpet. “Selma”’s David Oyelowo looked dashing in a deep red tux and the always stunning Meryl Streep donned a feminine suit jacket ensemble.

While viewers will have to wait another year to see what styles dominate the red carpet, these looks will have critics talking for years to come.
